Rosebery Prize Winners 2025

The Scottish History Society were thrilled to announce the winner of the Rosebery Prize 2025 at our Annual General Meeting and Conference on 28th March this year.

Olivia Dunderdale, James Robertson and Katharina Pruente
Our President James Robertson formally awards Olivia Dunderdale and Katharina Pruente the Rosebery Prize 2025

The submissions received for 2025 were of an exceptionally high quality and we therefore decided to award the prize jointly to two winners: Olivia Dunderdale of the University of St. Andrews and Katharina Pruente of the University of Stirling. Olivia’s sample edition was from the Accounts of the Common Good Elgin, preserved by Moray Local Heritage Centre (ZBE1 C60/1) and Katharina’s sample edition was from the Protocol Book of Gavin Hamilton, held in the National Records of Scotland, Edinburgh (GD112/5/8).

Both submissions demonstrated excellent editorial skills and included carefully considered transcriptions.

Olivia and Katharina were formally awarded the Rosebery Prize at our AGM by our President James Robertson.
