To mark the 130th birthday of the Society, we are hosting a lecture and the launch of our digital edition in the National Library of Scotland on Monday 14 November 2016, 4pm-7pm.
We are delighted to announce that Dr Catriona Macdonald, University of Glasgow, will give a lecture on the place of the Society and others like it in the civic and cultural history of modern Scotland, entitled:
‘Select coteries of scholars and dilettanti’?: the Scottish History Society and the creation of a national historical community
Then, as part of the Society’s programme for the future, we will launch our digital edition – a major digitisation project, which will make all of our volumes free and searchable online, in partnership with the National Library of Scotland.
This will be followed by a wine reception.
